Apply now Senior QA Engineer (Manual & Automation)
- Full-time
- 6+ years
- Remote · India
The role
You will partner with product and engineering from early design through production, deciding where manual investigation adds value and where repeatable automation gives the team confidence to release. You will help improve quality practices across the team and mentor others while remaining hands-on with testing.
What you will do
- Define practical test strategies for product changes, including risk areas, acceptance criteria, and release checks.
- Lead exploratory and regression testing across React workflows, Ruby on Rails services, and their integrations.
- Design and maintain dependable browser and API automation, and integrate high-value checks into CI.
- Improve test data, environments, and defect triage so issues are reproducible and fixes can be verified quickly.
- Use production feedback and incident learnings to identify coverage gaps and prevent recurring regressions.
- Use AI tools to explore scenarios and draft test cases or automation; validate results and protect confidential code and production data.
- Coach QA peers and engineers on testability, automation design, and effective manual testing.
What we are looking for
- 6+ years in QA or software testing, including ownership of quality for a product area or major release.
- Strong experience with risk-based exploratory, functional, and regression testing for web applications.
- Hands-on browser automation experience with Playwright, Cypress, Selenium, or a comparable tool.
- Experience testing REST APIs, relational data, and applications built with React and Rails or Python services.
- Ability to integrate automated checks into CI and keep suites useful, maintainable, and stable.
- Regular use of AI tools in QA work, with judgment to verify generated tests and keep sensitive data out of unapproved tools.
- Clear communication, sound release-risk judgment, and ability to mentor teammates in a remote team.
Experience with accessibility, performance testing, SQL, CI pipelines, and production incident reviews is useful. Deep expertise in every tool is not expected.
