The role

You will work with product managers and engineers throughout feature development, not just at the end of a release. You will clarify acceptance criteria, explore real user workflows, and build a practical mix of API and browser checks that catches important regressions without creating brittle test suites. As part of a small startup team, priorities may shift and you may occasionally take on work beyond your core QA responsibilities to help the team deliver.

What you will do

  • Review requirements early, identify gaps and edge cases, and help define clear acceptance criteria.
  • Perform exploratory, functional, regression, and cross-browser testing for React applications and Ruby on Rails services.
  • Create and maintain automated API and UI tests and run them as part of the delivery pipeline.
  • Use logs, test data, and reproducible steps to help engineers diagnose defects and verify fixes.
  • Use AI tools to help draft test cases, generate test data, and explore edge cases; verify suggestions and never put sensitive production data into unapproved tools.
  • Communicate release risks clearly and help the team improve quality practices over time.

What we are looking for

  • 3-6 years in software QA or testing for web applications.
  • Strong fundamentals in exploratory testing, test design, bug reporting, and regression testing.
  • Hands-on experience with API testing and browser automation, using a tool such as Playwright, Cypress, or Selenium.
  • Ability to test REST APIs and understand common web application and database behaviors.
  • Regular use of AI tools for testing work, with careful verification of generated cases and data privacy.
  • Clear written communication and comfort collaborating with a remote product team.

Experience testing React interfaces, Ruby on Rails services, CI pipelines, SQL, and accessibility is useful. You do not need deep expertise in every tool listed.
